MINISTRIES

Discipleship Ministry

The church will always have new converts and/or young believers forming most of its membership.  A consistent discipleship program has been put in place to ground young believers on sound Bible teachings – whereby evening Bible classes are conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,” {1 Peter 2:2}. To ensure that a steadfast growth is achieved in new believers, the church has set up a consistent follow up program that consists of the provision of Bibles and doctrinal Bible literature.  Through the Cell Group Fellowships (Teams) every young believer is assigned a mature believer who is held responsible for their spiritual development.

We continue to seek to establish unity of purpose with other local and international members of the body of Christ with a view to have exchange Missionary programs involving mature “…men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom……” {Acts 6:3}.

Through discipleship, the church will identify, nurture and confirm God’s gifts and talents in individual believers in full appreciation of the fact that there is no single super believer who is able to do everything to steer the church of Christ to maturity {1 Corinthians 12:11-26}.

The church has future plans of having television and radio programs aimed at promoting accurate Bible teachings for both the purposes of evangelism and discipleship. The church also prospects of purchasing a church van which will expedite the transportation of the evangelistic team and the sound equipment to the field.   “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”  {Romans 10:14-15}.

Music Ministry

This is a ministry that praises and worships God through singing with the main objective of leading others to do the same.  The singing ministry continually receives training and instructions in the Word of God so as to enable the ministry to become worship and not entertainment.

“And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” {Ephesians 5:18-20}.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” {Colossians 3:16}.

Children Ministry

The children ministry consists of three classes; the Teenagers (age group 13 to 18), the Gifted Warriors (age group 8 to 12) and the Blessed Angels (age group 2 to 7).  These classes are being conducted by able teachers who have been trained under the church curriculum, programs and teachings that will ground our children on a firm Christian foundation developed by the Pastor and his Assistants.  The objective of these teachings is aimed at equipping the children with the knowledge of Christ through ministry of the Word and other allied activities, at an earliest opportunity possible.  Some of these activities include visiting children’s homes, child evangelism, etc.

“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” {Matthew 19:14}.

Men Ministry

The Men Fellowship consists of all the mature men in the church with a view of establishing them in their respective roles in the church, in their families and in the society.  The fellowship is in the process of developing programs aimed at empowering the men financially through small businesses and other socio-economic activities.  “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;” {1 Timothy 2:8}.

Women Ministry

The Women Fellowship consists of all mature women in the church who are developing an excellent women fellowship with a view to equipping themselves to play their part in ministry and to empower themselves to face the spiritual, social, domestic and even financial responsibilities.  The women have organized their own social club within the church where a Board has been formed and officials elected.  They have further begun programs of reaching out to each other through visitations and mentoring the young women on how to live a successful Christian life “the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things- that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.” {Titus 2:3-5}.

Among the programs that the Women Fellowship is pursuing include:-

  • An effective Bible study program which aims at empowering the women spiritually with the view of offering true worship to God;
  • A Women Savings Scheme whose objective is to train and empower women in the areas of financial discipline, savings, investment and entrepreneurship;
  • An active prison ministry whereby the Women Fellowship visits female inmates in different prisons and ministers to their spiritual needs and material needs i.e. providing them with toiletries and children’s clothing.

Youth Ministry

The youth are continuously instructed in sound bible doctrine and send out to minister to their peers especially in schools and colleges. The young believers are prepared for the challenges of a dynamic world through addressing their many unanswered questions. There are future plans of hosting youth camps whereby young believers from all over the world may have the opportunity to come together and share their diverse challenges, experiences and victories.

Through this the youth have been tremendously stirred up and are reaching out to their peers through invitations to overnight prayers, seminars, praise and worship services, visitations, etc.  The Youth Fellowship seeks to network with other local and international organizations to achieve the objective of rescuing and empowering the youth at the earliest opportunity possible.  “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” {1 Timothy 4:12}.

Through the Youth Bible Trivia the members of the Youth Fellowship are challenged to read and study the Bible after which they are divided in groups and challenged to answer several questions to test their understanding of the Bible and their Bible interpretation skills.  Different gifts among the youth are also identified and nurtured through practical ministry whereby they are given the opportunity to minister in their areas of calling.

Ministry to Couples in Marriage (Amazing Marriages Fellowship)

Pursuing Biblical principles for stable, enjoyable and prosperous marriages!

Mercy/Benevolence Ministry

The church seeks to minister to the whole body of a believer.  Many a times very good sermons are preached to believers who are in distress, hungry, or discontented due to lack of the basic needs of life.  They have been told to believe God for their provision while the preachers retreat to their comfort zones after taking away the little they had through unbiblical principles of giving like planting seeds, the business of selling “anointing oil”, “holy water”, salt, handkerchiefs, brooms for “sweeping away demons”, the business of selling false prophecies, etc.  The church continues to establish Biblical programs to address the spiritual, social and material needs of believers.

“And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.'” {Matthew 21:13}

“If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?” {James 2:15-16}

Intercessory Ministry

The church membership meets regularly to approach the heavenly throne of grace seeking for divine intervention in human activities as per prayer requests made by members of the church, GCC friends and partners, national leaders, for the peace of the nation of Israel and the universal body of Christ.  In general, we continually pray:-

  • That the Lord may graciously grant us open door opportunities for evangelism; Colossians 4:3;
  • That faithful, able and available laborers or workers may be found well trained, well equipped and well prepared to go to the evangelistic battlefront; Luke 10:2; Matthew 9:38; 2 Thessalonians 3:1;
  • That there may be simplicity, clarity and boldness in proclamation of the sound doctrine of salvation to the lost and hurting world; Colossians 4:4; Ephesians 6:19-20; Romans 10:1; 1 Timothy 2:1-8;
  • That the Lord may safely preserve and protect all those who go out to proclaim the gospel; 2 Thessalonians 3:2;
  • That the Lord may make financial and material provision to meet the evangelists’ needs; Romans 10:14; 1 Corinthians 9:13-14;
  • That the Holy Spirit may use the message of the gospel to convince and convict the elect, among those who will hear the gospel, unto salvation; John 16:8-11;
  • That those who believe may get into Bible teaching, Bible believing and Bible practicing churches where they will be fed with pure spiritual milk by which they will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, even Jesus Christ; John 8:31-32; 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Peter 3:18

Prayer requests are always made through prayerline@gcckenya.org and handled with confidentiality unless otherwise public mention of it authorized by the one requesting for prayers.
