About Us

Charis Bible Training Institute (CBTI) is a biblical training committed to equipping ministers of the gospel and any other believer in the Lord Jesus Christ for the work of the ministry.  CBTI is a place of information, transformation and impartation.

  • Information: the equipping of the believer 
  • Transformation: is the evident growth of the believer

    “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” {Ephesians 4:11-12}

  • Impartation: is to enable the believer reproduce what God is doing in you; the outworking of the believer for Christian service.

 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”  (Philippians 2:12-13}

“that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” {Romans 8:4}

CBTI was founded by Maurice J. Mwale, the Pastor of Grace Covenant Church in Umoja, Nairobi and Bishop of Grace Covenant Churches in Kenya.  He is also the Founder of Grace for Transformation, Kenya, a Bible teaching ministry that conducts conferences within and without the country.

CBTI has qualified lecturers who have vast experience in not just the Bible but also Church ministry.

CBTI has its first campus in Umoja Innercore, Nairobi and a satellite campus in Kasarani, Voi and Ibanda District in Uganda.  Plans are underway to start campuses in other towns around the country and its environs.  We are now excited to have the Narok Campus.

To equip believers or saints (church workers), by God’s grace, for effectual ministry.

To provide a Bible based impactful and transformative training aimed at equipping, establishing and encouraging believers for effective ministry.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” {2 Timothy 2:15}

THE PROBLEM

Most theological and biblical training offered are predicated on the Old Testament practices & procedures, the Mosaic Law, and treat the doctrine of grace as a minor lesson and not the main focus during this dispensation of the Church.

“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. “But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” {John 5:39-40}

THE SOLUTION

After conducting GFT Pastors and Church Workers Bible Conferences for over fifteen (15) years, the Founder of CBI Maurice J. Mwale, kept perceiving the need to start a Bible School that would equip ministers of the gospel with sound bible teaching, grace based, as revealed throughout the Bible.

“But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,” {2 Timothy 3:14}

 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  {2 Timothy 3:16-17}

We offer very competitive and innovative courses that are able to equip the minister for the work of the ministry in the 21st Century responding to the needs of the contemporary church yet grounded on the teaching delivered to us by the apostles in the Holy Scriptures.
